We are trying to make circles out of square grid paper. On our first day back in Art, we did puzzles that they did in the Navy. We had to match the puzzles. In our next class, we turned off the lights and we put on our blindfolds. We were sculpting and we had to try to not think of what we were making. We also did not know who we were working with. It felt weird to not know who you were working with or what you were doing, but our sculptures were pretty cool!

In art this month we are taking photos and transforming them on white paper. To do this, we add other things to the picture that would and could have been there already. We all really like transforming the pictures because its really fun to add different things and use our creativity. Another thing we did was bend and cut paper into different shapes. Some people made faces, too. People made loops, mountains, houses, towers, and much more. In one half group, they made a 36 inch tower out of one twelve inch peice of paper! It was so cool! Art is one of our favorite periods.

Our Art teacher is Mr. Jelinek. He’s really funny! We worked on Six Portraits. The Six Portraits is when you make six panels on a big sheet of paper and each portrait has a different material. The last panel is every material you used combined. The materials we used were pencil, marker, collage, watercolor, oil pastel and then, we combined the materials. It was really fun!

Now, we are working with marker and foam pieces. We made portraits of something of your choice out of foam and marker. We had to try to make it look like we were only using one material. It is fun because when you do it, you can make it anything you want!
